Downcomer Fire Hydrant

A firefighting setup within the building consists of downcomer mains, with an internal diameter of at least 100 mm, connected to a terrace tank via a terrace pump, gate valve, and non-return valve, with landing valves on each floor. It also includes inlet connections at ground level and an air release valve at roof level, allowing it to be charged with water by fire service pumps.

Wet Riser Fire Hydrant

A wet-riser system comprises one or more pipes, depending on the building’s size and height, constantly filled with water under pressure. Each floor is equipped with landing valves, hose reels, hoses, and branch pipes. The system includes a pressure differential switch that automatically starts the pump when water is drawn from the hydrant, ensuring water is immediately available. Additionally, a standby pump is in place to automatically activate if the main power source fails, maintaining continuous operation of hydrants and hose reels even during power outages.

Court Yard Fire Hydrant

Water reservoirs for the fire hydrant system should be installed underground, at ground level, or elevated, feeding a horizontal pipeline with a 63 mm diameter outlet connected to the underground water tank. Courtyard hydrants must be equipped with stand posts as outlined in the schedule of quantities. Essential hydrant accessories, including standpipes, hydrant key and bar, suction collecting heads, delivery hoses, branch pipes, and nozzles, must be provided in sufficient quantities to ensure the quick and efficient operation of the hydrant system.

Sprinkler System

The Sprinkler Fire Protection System is one of the most reliable and cost-effective firefighting solutions, requiring minimal maintenance. Its key advantage is its ability to detect and extinguish fires automatically. This active fire protection system includes a water supply that provides sufficient pressure and flow to a network of distribution pipes connected to fire sprinklers. The sprinklers activate and release water when fire-related conditions, such as a predetermined temperature, are detected, effectively controlling and extinguishing the fire at its source.
